A rich, gourmand vintage for this lovely cuvée, the 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Birbettes offers up an attractive bouquet of ripe yellow orchard fruits, beeswax, peach, pear and pastry cream. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and textural, with impressive depth and concentration, underpinned by surprisingly succulent acids and concluding with a promisingly lifted finish.
By turning the page of their career as architects, Claire and Fabio Montrasi took over the reins of Château des Rontets in the mid-nineties. Their Pouilly-Fuissé wines are sumptuously succulent.
